“I knew going on a run would be good!” my wolf yipped in my head and he was right even though I had got hurt I finally met my mate. There was something special about her, her heart seemed to be filled with kindness and the power around her was electrifying. She seemed to be close with animals, that would explain her calm reaction when my wolf met her, if it was someone else who lived with normal humans and even if that person was one of us they would have definitely panicked and probably screamed, which would have made a whole new pile of problems , in case the hunters heard her. But it was harder to leave her and go, it felt as if my heart was wrenched in two. And my wolf was mourning , whining telling me to go back to her. I guess the bond between us was already forming. It would be harder to stay away from each other.

However, I had different priorities that I had to attend to. If I was going to protect the princess I had to settle down here and get to know this area much better. And I also have to make sure that I did not attract any attention, that would create suspicions. I went to the local school which was open until late night and checked out the name list of the students who attended. I did not still know my mate’s name but I knew what she looked like, it was good because there were ID pictures along with the registration list and she was present. She was a good student by the looks of it, with straight A’s and speck less record for behaviour. That made me smile, werewolves usually were a bit impulsive and they tend to have a bad record for behaviour, but it looked like she was special within her own kind as well.
The receptionist gave me a feline smile, “welcome to Bridgeway academy, hope you have a good term.” She filled out the forms and gave me my timetable for today along with the list of books and locker code number. “Thanks !” I said , then I paused an idea striking me , “Excuse me, is there a list of students attending this school I can see? I want to check if a friend is here. ” I made it as friendly as possible, so that she doesn’t think that I am a stalker or something. The receptionist smiled, “of course honey, you can check for your friend , it’s good to know someone when you are coming to a new school.” She went inside her staff room and there was a shuffling sound, a few seconds later she brought out a list of students. Then I saw her picture , Evangeline Parker. It was a beautiful name well suited for her. Seeing her in person my body screamed for her, but my thoughts were interrupted by throat clearing, “she’s a good girl , silent type with good grades” the receptionist gave a knowing smile. I nodded , “thank you for everything, have a good night!” I headed home, after all the incidents that happened I was exhausted.
As soon as I arrived at home I threw my shoes aside and took a warm bath to loosen my tensed muscles and then went straight to bed. Lying down on the plum pillows I thought of my mom. I would soon go home now that I have finally found my mate, it might take some time but I finally had some hope. Thinking about tomorrow, I soon fell asleep.
But sleep wasn’t always good, after everything that I had been through. It usually came along with nightmares. Everytime I close my eyes , I hear the tortured screams of my people and my mom’s last words as she said goodbye. I knew I could not get distracted in any way, time was a precious thing right now and my parents and pack’s lives depended on it.
I wondered if they were okay , what would those hunters be doing right now. I had to find out their location and also someone to help me to save everyone I love.
